1. When and why did you start coloring?

I started coloring about 2 years ago as I was off on sick leave and had all this spare time on my hands.

2. How does coloring help you?

I find coloring helps to pass the time, it gives me a way of expressing myself, and it centers me. I feel so relaxed and also there is a creative side to me, I just can’t pick any color, it has to match and I will have 10 green colored pencils around me, I try everyone on a piece of blank paper and when I find the right green, then I start, my husband looks at me and says, with all those green pencils, you still need more.

3. What designs do you like to color?

I like flowers, animals, mandalas to some extent, seasonal nature in all its glory. I find them much easier to work with.

4. What inspires you and how do you select colors for your next artwork?

When I scroll thru your website, I usually pick something that reminds me of something, for example, when I saw the Japanese lady, I printed it off, but I did because I had just read an article within the last few days about cherry blossoms blooming. It was my husband who noticed this little quirk of my behavior and I thought he wasn’t paying any attention to me as I was coloring. I start with my main color and work from there, I may start with eye color and then go on, I usually gaze at the picture, thinking different scenarios in my mind about the color pairing.

5. What is your perfect coloring atmosphere?

I usually color in my living room, when we are watching TV, rarely alone, I either have the TV on or music to let my mind gather information about what I am doing.

6. Why do you think people should try coloring? What will it add to their lives?

Coloring takes us back to our childhoods, relives happy times, for me and my 4-year-old grand-daughter who sometimes watches me or comments on a page. I did a wolf and she said his eyes were scary, it took that to remind me that others may see me by what I do.

7. What are your go-to coloring tools?

Sharp pencils, a blender, cup of tea or coffee.

8. What would be your advice to beginner colorists?

Sharpened pencils, your choice of the pages you want to color, your imagination.

9. How did you learn about Favoreads coloring club?

Worldwide web, I found your site, always came back to it, it is my go-to site. When I first entered it I was like – oh my gosh, where do I go first, I need more paper, I need more pencils.

10. Why do you like coloring pages from Favoreads?

You have such a variety, I really have to look at all the designs to pick what I like, but of course, I can’t just settle on one or two, or three, I could print them all off. I have fun with them. Your fees are very reasonable, your pages are fantastic, why would I go anywhere else when all I want is what you offer, your site is great.
